Zoie & Sipsey

Sometimes Zoie & Sipsey play well together...I just happen to be witness to it today. These two girls are the reason I get out of bed every morning. I'd be lost without them.

Grace's Little Sister

I photographed a couple on Thursday evening that are getting ready to welcome their first child in about three weeks. These were the first maternity pictures I have done and I was really pleased. I hope they will be pleased as well. These two are going to be great parents...

Big Sister, Grace, even made it into a few of the pictures and was very well behaved.
I think this is my favorite:)

Pretty Girls

I photographed an aunt and her twin nieces on Saturday evening. I had fun and they were all so beautiful. I had a hard time picking my favorites but here they are:

Saturday Mornings in the South

I've learned my lesson several times by leaving the house without my camera. This morning when I was leaving to deliver some proofs I grabbed my camera. I'm glad I did because I came across this flock of wild turkeys crossing the road. The pictures aren't really all that good but I like them and wanted to share.

Green Heron down at the pond-picture is terrible but I'm going to keep trying until I get a good picture of a green heron. They are extremely fast birds...never still.
I saw this driving home-the gold corn next to the green just caught my eye. I've always said that I take a lot of pictures...some good...some bad...some that don't matter to anyone but me...this is one of those pictures.

Little Man

Today I got the chance to spend some time with my oldest and dearest friend in the world and photograph her sweet little man. He was a trooper...cause we had him in all kinds of positions and outfits. The photos turned out great...here are a few of my favorites.

The Beginning of the End of Summer...

So...my friend, Nan, told me about this field of sunflowers. She wasn't sure of the exact location but knew the general vicinity. Naturally, I couldn't rest until I found it and at least took a few pictures of it. I talked my sister into going with me, which wasn't too hard to do, since she is always ready for a Jeep ride! We found it...it was all fenced in but I was able to get a few photo's from the road. They were beautiful AND full of bees. Sunflowers are my favorite flower and a sign that Summer is beginning to end and Autumn is just around the corner. Thanks Nan!
Can you honestly look at a sunflower without smiling?
This is my favorite... It looks as if they are having a conversation :)

More Amicalola Falls pics

Amicalola Falls State Park

My husband and I started out today and we were going to Chatsworth to get chicken feed but we ended up riding around...up to Ellijay...over to Dahlonega...over to Blairsville...up to Murphy...then back down to Benton to my mom's. We were in 3 different states and only gone a total of about 7 hours! We stopped at Amicalola Falls State Park and walked to the falls. After returning home, I googled the falls and found out that they are the tallest falls east of the Mississippi and the name means "tumbling water" in Cherokee. They were beautiful but hard to photograph because of their size.

Sleepless Nights...

Between Michael Phelps, the Olympics and this cute little girl...I've had several sleepless nights during the last week. Gene and I went to a farm in Epworth/Blue Ridge area and picked her up last Saturday. He's been trying to name his new pup since we brought her home. But as of today she has a name. I am proud to introduce you to . . . Sipsey.

95 Years...

My mammaw...she's the greatest. A woman of few words but a strong, wise and wonderful woman in my eyes. I get to spend Friday lunchtime with her at the nursing home...we celebrated her 95th birthday on ThursdayUncle Bruce came for breakfast...Mom made cupcakes...Rachel and Dad handed out ice cream to the other residents...She knew it was her birthday and when anyone asked how old she was, she simply replied "I guess I'm 100!" It was a great day for me-the brightspot in my week.

Hot summer evenings...

Despite the heat...My sister and I made a trip to Redbank to photograph a family this evening. I didn't mind the weather because these two just kept me laughing. I hope their Mom doesn't mind me using this picture...they just have this "brotherly" bond that is so evident. I really like the photos that I got this evening. Hope they will be pleased as well.

Ocoee River Whitewater Center

If you have never visited the Ocoee River Whitewater Center, in Polk County, then you just don't know what you're missing. Huge Porch across the top level of the center with big rocking chairs...not to mention the beautiful US Forest Service pedestrian bridge. It is the most incredible place to visit if you love the outdoors. It thrills me to no end that Polk County has such a nice center. Here are a few pics that I took today. Despite the rain and a very long wrong turn...it was a great day spent with my sister.
